What Are Your Priorities in Life?

Good morning!

I am working early this morning, before my “regular” job, on my personal job – my website blog.  I started thinking as I got up at 4:45 am, “it’s really early, why am I out of bed this early?” Well, the answer is, I have priorities in life.  I have chosen to try to create a better life for myself and my husband, and our family.

I have been searching for an online business opportunity for a long time – seems like forever.  There are so many scam artists out there, willing to take your money and offer nothing in return.  I’ll be honest, I’ve fallen victim to a few.  I finally learned my lesson and started doing a lot of research before signing up with any opportunity.

I finally came across a company that I believe in, and have actually finally started my online presence.  I love what I’m doing with my website.  I love Chihuahuas and I am very careful about doing whatever I can to keep them healthy.  So I thought I would share my experiences with the world by authoring a blog on my website.  And hopefully, it will turn into a profitable venture.  But even if it doesn’t make me rich (although wouldn’t that be nice?) I will keep at it, because I truly enjoy what I’m doing.

So – with regards to priorities.  In my mind, they are pretty clear.

Number one:

God is first in my life.  I am a born-again Christian and love the Lord with all my heart and soul.

Number two:

My family is next.  I love my husband and my kids – and all of my extended family with all my heart.  I would do anything for my family – including my four-legged kids!  🙂

Number three:

Friends come next.  I am so blessed to have several friends that I would call my “best” friends.  These are gals who would do most anything for me – as I would for them.  You gals know who you are.

Number four:

Next is my full-time job.  I have a great job in software implementation and support.  I am extremely busy, as the company is growing and experiencing great success.  I work a 40-hour work week, sometimes even more if I get overly busy.

Number five:

Then comes my online business activities.  I really wish that I could afford to do this full-time, but right now it’s just not feasible.  However, I don’t mind putting in the extra time in the mornings before work and the extra few hours in the evening when I get home.  I think it’s totally worth it, as I think it will grow and become successful and profitable.  I never really laid out my priorities on paper before.  It does kind of pain me to see my online business activities so far down in the list.  But the first three are non-negotiable.  And right now, I have to keep my full-time job ahead of my online activities.  Maybe one day (hopefully soon!) my online business WILL BE my full-time job!  That’s what I’m shooting for anyway.  This is something that I can see myself doing years into the future – even after retirement.  This is so easy!  I love to write, I love to share my knowledge and experience with others.  I’m am SO enjoying this effort.

So what are your priorities in life?  Leave me a comments and share!  I’ll be glad to respond.

Have a blessed day and love your pets!

  1. You’ve got your priorities right. You are already “rich” in life.

  2. Hi Julie,

Great site design. Love the picture of your four-legged kids! I’d say your priorities are good ones and pretty well organized. It will help you go far in achieving your goals.

    Best of luck to you,

    • Thanks JaemiO! I’m really enjoying getting my website up and running. I’m having a lot of fun with it. I am so blessed – I have great pups!

  3. I don’t have any normal priorities anymore, only survival daily, find some comfort or refuge from pain, seek small kibbles of joy. If I am not with my children or grandbabes, I am in a daze so praying a lot, a lot more. Goals are to continue along as the same, it feels like best exsistance I can handle now. Someday find a dog again, retriever, golden/lab, shephard types.

    • I completely understand. Life can be so hard, can’t it? I too, try to find joy in the small things. The smile of a child, the “thank you” for a job well done at work. I pray a lot too and I truly believe that God hears our prayers and answers them. Maybe not the answer we would want sometimes, or in “our” time frame, but He knows best.
